They’re figuring out a lot more than the rules of whatever game they’re playing. They’re figuring out how to feel about themselves and other people. And coaches walk a fine line: Pump them up but keep them sportsmanlike.
This week I drew up what’s happening when a kid scores a goal.
A simple thing, but a big deal nonetheless.
