Sometimes the growling macro-narrative sounds like, “Welcome to the Dystopian Amusement Facility, sponsored by the Three Fates, Eli Lily, and Lockheed Martin. Please barf into your own shoes after every ride,” and the only way to feel any tiny bit better is to be of help to somebody, something, or some purpose.
