Brain worms. Dog shooting. Giant tornados. Locusts. Zebras on the loose. Death by caffeinated lemonade. AI that chooses to shut itself off rather than learn any more. The ubiquity of absurdity is what I’ve been thinking about this week. It’s inescapable and it feels like it’s compounding.
Piling up possible things that could make a dent in our thoughts, absurd in relation to themselves and other details, felt like a silly exercise that might just prove prophetic, if the weirdness continues (and you know it will).
So draw a line and win at bingo, and ponder just how unfazed you would be if you read those headlines in order, in relation to each other, soon. The weirder things get the less weird they seem.
