What is school for?
What is the overarching-lesson?
What are we building?
Why are the gatekeepers so paranoid?
If we don’t believe there’s enough success to go around, we throw up roadblocks and throw down the gauntlet and throw kids onto a stress-treadmill until most of them eventually and exhaustedly give up:
But if we DO think there’s enough success to go around, that we’re building more than moated enclosures, that we’re building the entirety of tomorrow, then we do this:
Simply showing up is not enough, but showing up together is.
Success is a renewable resource—and it’s wasteful and mean to act otherwise.
